To be a good fit for the Marketing Communications Specialist opportunity, you will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism or a related field  
  • 3-5 years of relevant writing experience in a corporate environment
  • Excellent writing skills and experience:
    • Writing for technical audiences, preferably in the medical industry, paying strict attention to regulatory and compliance verbiage, such as for the FDA or similar
    • Solid copywriting experience; ability to use different voices as appropriate for copy ranging from corporate communication to web pages to sell sheets, etc.
    • Strong grasp of AP Style
    • Proven editing and proofing skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of product positioning, value propositions and messaging directed to a diverse audience, ideally including clinical healthcare providers, distributors and patients
  • Fundamental knowledge and ability to apply current marketing principles and best practices
  • Effective project planning and management skills with demonstrated experience managing multiple projects at various stages of development
  • Solid computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Keynote
  • Prior experience in the medical device industry, marketing to clinical audiences preferred. 
In addition, success will require the following competencies and characteristics:
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to work well under tight timeframes and changing priorities, and handle multiple tasks with efficiency and effectiveness
  • Proactive problem solver with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent organization, follow up and follow through on each project
  • Strong relationship-building skills, ability to collaborate and effectively perform within global cross-functional teams with conflicting priorities
  • Ability to work independently and exhibit a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed
At present, you will work remotely from your home office. Post Covid restrictions, we anticipate working in the office at least part-time, however, our reentry plan is not yet established.

Reporting to and working closely with the Senior Marketing Manager, as Marketing Communications Specialist, you will support domestic and international Corporate project development through the delivery of a variety of traditional and digital marketing materials. You will work in accordance with corporate, sales and marketing goals and objectives, and in line with Aspen's brand guidelines and graphic and quality standards. You will track project tasks and delivery schedules, manage approvals and document control processing, coordinate multilingual projects, and ensure they are executed in a timely manner and according to deadlines.

This is a role with a heavy writing component. You will leverage your strong marketing and writing skills as you focus heavily on product positioning and launches, marketing collateral and the approval process. You will support advertising campaigns, sales, and promotional activities targeting various audiences including healthcare professionals, distributors and patients. Specifically, you will:
  • Execute activities in an efficient manner, on budget and on time, aligned with Aspen quality and graphic standards 
  • Work collaboratively to support planning, development and implementation of marketing tactics to support sales, ensure maximum brand exposure and market penetration for Aspen and its products
  • Contribute to and coordinate the development of marketing materials 
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team on strategy and messaging
  • Ensure strong copywriting and content accuracy and consistency
  • Create project timelines, manage delivery schedules ensuring project development, approvals and post-production activities are completed on time and per deadlines
  • Contribute to the yearly marketing plan and budget forecasting, track expenses and generate status reports as required
  • Collaborate with Graphics team on the development and delivery timelines, communications content and marketing direction
  • Proof projects for accuracy throughout project development through final delivery
  • Supports approved miscellaneous projects as identified
