To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Junior Demand Planner opportunity, you will have:
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Reporting to the Demand Planning Manager, you will be responsible for assigned demand, replenishment and inventory management activities associated with manufactured and purchased finished goods. You will create and maintain a demand plan and forecast models for your products, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from Sales, Marketing, Finance, and other sources.  

This is a hands-on position responsible for developing and executing a demand plan, and replenishing inventory for assigned products/distribution centers that will enable Aspen to meet targeted customer service and finished goods inventory objectives.

More about the requirements
In addition to the qualifications listed under The Requirements tab, we're looking for a professional who has:
  • Excellent analytical, organization, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process.
  • Willingness to work outside of traditional business hours (early morning meetings) to interface with European contacts.
  • Openness to occasional, limited domestic and/or international travel. 
Preferred but not required:
  • Forecasting or Supply Chain certification.
  • Experience in the medical device industry.  
We are currently working remotely but expect this to become a hybrid position including remote work and 2-3 days per week in the Irvine office. Part of your training will also be in the office.

More about the role
In addition to the responsibilities under The Role tab, it will require strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate with and gather information from multiple stakeholders as you:
  • Develop and publish the monthly demand plan for assigned products/markets.
  • Generate weekly/monthly statistical forecast reports for assigned products/markets for a 12-month rolling forecast while continuously improving forecasting techniques, methods, and approaches.
  • Participate in S&OP meetings with Marketing, Sales, Finance and operational managers, reviewing recommended sales forecasts and inventory goals, and managing inventory targets, including safety stock levels, for assigned products/markets and associated Distribution Centers.  Provide minutes/actions as appropriate.
  • Monitor inventory levels for assigned products/markets, initiate replenishment orders at the appropriate time and quantity to minimize backorders while ensuring inventory and logistics cost targets are achieved. Coordinate with appropriate supplying locations/Logistics to ensure shipments and deliveries are achieved on time.
  • Prepare, report, and communicate forecast and inventory measurements to management (e.g., forecast accuracy, inventory plan vs. targets, excess) for assigned products/markets. 
  • Monitor SKU levels and recommend SKU rationalization and obsolescence initiatives.
  • Maintain demand planning system and software which include entering and modifying data and ensure the correctness of product hierarchy. 
  • Communicate, coordinate and reconcile inventory levels with the Logistics, including 3PL, organization.
  • Communicate, coordinate and reconcile inventory levels with the Distribution, including 3PL, organization.
  • Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process.
  • Other duties as assigned.
